Pension Act
Time is running out to take advantage of the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
The Pension Protection Act of August, 2006 allows taxpayers to donate money to qualified charitable organizations directly from their
traditional Roth IRA account. Distributions are tax-free and early withdrawal penalties are avoided. This tax benefit is only available
until December 2007.
Taxpayers who are at least 70 1/2 years old can make a tax-free charitable gift of up to $100,000 per year from an IRA. Distribution must be
made directly from the trustee of an IRA to the charity. Donors cannot take the distribution themselves and subsequently write a check to the
charity. Donors who manage their own IRA funds should check with a financial advisor on how to distribute a gift.
Never has there been a better time to improve the lives of pets through a gift to Bideawee, while taking advantage of this limited time tax benefit
provided by the Pension Protection Act.
To take full advantage of this opportunity, you must complete each year's transfer prior to December 31st of 2007. Check with your financial
advisors about the best ways to take advantage of this new giving opportunity.
For further information on donating a gift through your IRA, please contact Bideawee's Development Department at
