SuperZoo convention in Las Vegas reveals future of pet care
September 19, 2012
Las Vegas is the home to countless conventions over the course of a given year, but recently pet parents, pet care companies and other large-scale vendors had their day in the desert sun. According to the Las Vegas Sun, the SuperZoo convention at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center has been in Sin City for the past four years, and this year's convention was bigger than ever. With more than 850 exhibitors and many furry friends on the convention floor, there was certainly something for everyone and plenty of new pet products on display. If you're thinking of adopting a dog or cat from a New York animal shelter, the following show highlights may be a great choice for your pet in the future.
1. Flush Puppies. We've all heard of biodegradable bags that can be used to pick up your dog's business in public areas, but very few are meant to be flushed down the toilet! This product will allow you to flush either your dog or cat's droppings in your toilet, and the bag will break down almost immediately after being flushed. This can help prevent thousands of plastic bags from ending up in landfills and they come in wallet-sized packets that make them easier to carry with you.
2. Boo Boo Loon. After a dog takes a trip to the vet and has a medical procedure performed, he or she often has to wear the large plastic cone that prevent him or her from biting at certain areas of the body. The "cone of shame" can often be very uncomfortable for dogs, so one company has created an inflatable version called the Boo Boo Loon. This is far more comfortable, will allow your dog to eat and sleep comfortably and won't restrict your dog's hearing or vision in the process.
3. The FroliCat Flik. Nurturing your cat's instinct to hunt is one of the best ways to give him or her consistent exercise and mental stimulation, but this can be tough to do if you're away all afternoon. The FroliCat Flik is a fabulous new toy that features a small white disc that repeatedly flicks out a small string from one side to the other, reports CatChannel.com. The toy is meant to allow cats to stalk and then pounce on their prey, and it could provide hours of fun for your furry friend.
