Featured Career: Veterinary Technician

Bideawee Westhampton Vet Techs Heather Fasani, Traci Shapiro, Stephanie Leech
The third week of October is National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW) and all of us at Bideawee-the two-legged and the four-legged-would like to take the opportunity to applaud Veterinary Technicians everywhere for all the hard work they do!
Vet Techs are a vital part of the pet world and that is no exception here at Bideawee. Our Technicians are hands-on not only with the family pets that visit our Vet Practices in Manhattan and Westhampton, but also care for the dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens staying with us in our Adoption Centers.

Bideawee Manhattan's Vet Techs Gricelda Guzman, Goksun Deniz, Beverly Rodriguez.
Although NVTW lasts only seven days, Vet Techs bring care, compassion, and empathy to their job every day of the year, enriching the lives of the countless animals they serve. In caring for our beloved pets, Veterinary Technicians benefit and educate us-the human companions-helping each of us to become the best pet parents we can be.
As important as Veterinary Technicians are to the animal profession, in recent years there has been an unfortunate decline in the number of people choosing to pursue it as a career. The National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America has a very informative website with resources for anyone interested in a rewarding career as a Veterinary Technician.
