- Strategic Planning and Evaluation - Bideawee engaged in strategic planning in 2005 in which we renewed our mission and values and set forth goals for the coming five years. Each year, we review our achievements toward our plan to measure our progress and ensure that our resources are used wisely.

- Governance - Bideawee's Board of Directors has approved written policies for accountability and transparency and fulfills all nine recommendations set forth in the IRS draft Good Governance Practices for 501(c)3 Organizations.

Bideawee's Excellence in Animal Care
- Standard of Care - Bideawee adheres to a Bill of Rights for our resident canines and felines. Our Bill of Rights helps the animals in our care remain healthy, well-mannered and ready to adopt into loving, forever homes. Bideawee does not euthanize an animal unless it is incurably ill or suffering.
- Matching pets with people - Expert in pet adoptions for over 100 years, Bideawee staff knows the personalities and needs of every animal in our care. We take the time to get to know our potential adopters - their lifestyles and their personalities - to ensure a perfect match. Unlike other shelters, Bideawee only considers an adoption successful if the placement is permanent. More »
- Adoption is not a purchase - At Bideawee you can feel free to fall in love with big or little, full-breed or mixed-breed, young or not-so-young, feline or canine. Adoption is not a transaction, it is a relationship. We don't think that any one animal's life should be "priced" more or less than another, so Bideawee has only one standard modest processing fee per animal adopted. This fee helps offset the cost of shelter, food, daily care and quality veterinary services we provide. More »
- Training and Behavior Services - Bideawee uses positive reinforcement techniques to modify behaviors that are barriers to adoption. After adoption, through puppy kindergarten and other training and behavior services to the public, we help pet owners establish and maintain strong, loving, life-long bonds with their companion animals. - Quality Veterinary Care - All resident animals at Bideawee receive excellent care by our licensed, experienced veterinary team seven days a week. Bideawee kittens, puppies, cats and dogs are all spayed/neutered and microchipped before being made available for adoption. The repair of broken bones, burns, congenital disabilities, emergency medical care and other special veterinary needs of homeless animals are met through our Veterinary Medical Assistance Fund.
