Bideawee Buddy Event
Location: Manhattan
Date: March 19, 2007
On March 19th, approximately 135 "Bideawee Buddies" attended the first ever Bideawee Buddy event, held at ASTRA, located in the New York Decoration and Design building in Manhattan. The event featured cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and tunes spun by DJ Rsonist of the Heatmakerz in a windowed room overlooking the 59th Street Bridge, adorned with floral arrangements donated by Mille Fiori.
Guests were entered into a drawing for wonderful prizes, including a VIP Behind the Scenes Tour of the Today Show (donated by Matt Lauer), a Ferragamo handbag (donated by Ferragamo), a Japanese woodblock print entitled "Cat and Yarn," (donated by Mary and Nelson Luria), a cashmere dog sweater, stuffed dog, and leather collar/leash set (donated by Brooks Brothers) and a $250 Brooks Brothers Gift Card (also donated by Brooks Brothers).
The Bideawee Buddy event was organized and underwritten by the Co-Chairs of Bideawee's event committee, Sue Grundfest and Doreen Salerno. This event was designed to introduce new faces to Bideawee and familiarize them with the organization's mission, while also enjoying the food, setting and music. The event helped to raise more than $15,000 to support Bideawee's programs. Special thanks go to Mike Ray for the invitation design, Bradford Graphics for the invitation printing, and Carson Kressley helping us with the prize drawing, so plan to come to our next Bideawee Buddy Event in March 2008!
