About Stacy Alldredge: An passionate advocate on behalf of dogs for more than 20 years, Stacy Alldredge is one of the few long-term, practicing, canine behavior specialists concentrating on challenges such as inter- and cross-species aggression, separation anxiety and Obsessive/ Compulsive Disorder, among others. She has successfully trained several thousand dogs and their caregivers. Alldredge has shared her home with more than 25 cat and dog rescues and has fostered and placed countless others.

By employing a holistic, positive approach to understanding dog behavior and what makes them our unique companions, Alldredge is the “expert-of-choice” for thousands of clients in New York and throughout the country, and is routinely recommended by the Humane Society, NYC veterinary hospitals, behavior hotlines and animal shelters. With a foundation in Social Work (BA) and several years in crisis counseling, her work as a dog advocate has concentrated on helping people respect and understand this complex other-species. She is a certified canine nutritionist, holds multiple certifications in Applied Animal Behavior as well as holistic health for dogs, and is a Veterinary technician with ten years of clinical experience. Alldredge also serves as an evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen and the Delta Society dpet therapy programs. Seeing a vast educational and preparedness void in the rapidly growing business of dog training, she also designed and instructs the highly competitive, rigorous “Who's Walking Who?” four-year apprentice program.

In addition to the in-depth behavior work and beginner-through-advanced levels of training services offered at her NYC practice, Alldredge conducts temperament-testing to establish adoptability of shelter and rescue dogs. She provides breed selection, nutritional counseling, and “puppy assessment” services to help people select appropriate, lifetime canine companions. She and her staff can also be found on locations training and providing dogs for commercials, movies and advertising campaigns for such clients as MasterCard, Loews Hotels and the QE2.

Alldredge is a consultant to numerous national and regional veterinary and breeder organizations as well as a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, the United States Dog Agility Association, the National Club for Dog Agility and the North American Flyball Association. Alldredge and her dogs have won numerous awards in both agility and competitive obedience. Alldredge was the chef behind Throw Me A Bone: A Guide to Cooking Healthy, Tasty Food for your Dog, and authored the forwards to several breed-specific books such as The Idiot's Guide to Labrador Retrievers, The Idiot's Guide to Dachshunds and The Idiots Guide to Yorkshire Terriers. In addition to numerous international appearances and interviews, Stacy has been featured on Good Morning America on ABC, Primetime, Good Day NY, Today in New York on NBC, Fox News, New York 1, WB Morning Show, VH1, MTV, Animal Planet and has taught at The Learning Annex.
