Dream came to Bideawee a few weeks ago in desperate need of medical help after enduring unimaginable agony on the streets, caused by a broken leg and fractured hard palate, and after being rescued from the city’s euthanizing shelter. That Dream is now safely in our hands in order to recover from her terrifying time in dangerous conditions is because of the generosity and support of donors like you.

Still, little Dream’s dream has only come halfway true. She now faces surgery in order to repair her leg; and she continues to heal slowly from the damage to her mouth. After surgery, Dream will continue to need medical attention for her injured limb: But in the meantime, our veterinarian and adoption center staffs give her plenty of affection and love – things which she missed during her life as a stray.

At just 10 months old, Dream has already lived an unspeakably nightmarish life. This innocent,
underweight little stray was limping from an injury to her front paw when Animal Care & Control picked her up, compounded by a fractured right humerus in her leg. Dream couldn’t speak for herself: But her broken body told us she was suffering agonizing injuries that could only happen because she either fell from a very high window – or was thrown from one as if she was simply trash. In spite of the catastrophic damage to Dream, no one came looking for her – leaving her all alone, homeless, hungry, and seriously hurt, with time quickly running out for her in the overcrowded city shelter.

The city shelter staff didn’t have the equipment to help Dream; but they couldn’t bear the thought of this little girl’s life coming to a tragic end through no fault of her own. Dream had already gone through too much, and she desperately needed help. So the city shelter reached out, hoping someone would rescue Dream and give her a chance.

Bideawee stepped in for Dream and now has her in our care, where she is waiting to receive critically-needed surgery for her leg. Dream will also need repair to the hard palate in her mouth, which we discovered was partially split as a result of her fall. We know Dream must be in terrible pain: Yet she has been an absolute doll since coming to us, being sweet and keeping a “super-positive attitude.” Still, if Dream is to become the beautiful cat we know she is, she will need surgery and special care to make her better so she can be a new family’s very best friend.

We at Bideawee believe kittens and puppies like Dream deserve to become healthy cats and dogs; to receive food, care, and shelter; and finally, to find “forever homes” where they will never again endure such hardships alone. Their innocent lives and the unconditional love they show us are worth making their “dreams come true” to give them a second start.
