Celebrate pets at the Bideawee Ball on June 13, 2011

Join Bideawee and 300 socially active animal lovers from New York City's business, social, and celebrity communities at the 2011 Bideawee Ball. The Ball which features cocktails, seated dinner, dancing, and awards to those who have made a difference in the lives of pets, is the premier social event of the year that celebrates pets and Bideawee's mission to cultivate and support lifelong relationships between pets and the people that love them.

Loretta Swit, animal lover and star of stage and screen will serve as the celebrity host for the evening's festivities. Her unparalleled career is comprised of rich and diverse characters and includes leading roles in film, television and on theatrical stages. Ms. Swit has appeared in more than 25 television productions, her most well-known role for which she won 2 Emmy Awards is that of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan from the M*A*S*H television series. She has starred with national touring productions throughout the U.S., performed on Broadway in such plays as Same Time Next Year, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and in 2011 joined the ensemble cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore.

Bideawee will be honoring long time Bideawee board member Joe Garrison and his dog Austin as Volunteers of the Year for their years of dedication and commitment to the organization. Mr. Garrison has been instrumental in creating a culture of caring and compassion during his time on the board. His insights and leadership have played an enormous role in ensuring the future vitality of the organization.

Bideawee is awarding the prestigious "Bideawee Corporate Award" to IAMS' for their continual contribution to the health and well-being of pets. IAMS' longstanding commitment to helping shelter pets across the country and through their generous commitment to Bideawee over the past two years through donations of 17 tons of pet food, products and appliances, financial support and through our continuing partnerships at New York City media events.

The Bideawee Ball will be held at Guastavino's on East 59th Street from 6:30 to 10:30 pm. A Silent Auction and Live Auction of special and unique offerings will be conducted. General Seating Tickets are $500.00; Junior Tickets (under the age of 35) are available for $275.00; Canine Companion Tickets are $50.00.
