Bideawee's weight loss competition began with eight fur-nomenal yet flabby felines hoping to lose the extra pounds in an eight-week contest. Emily, a participant from our Manhattan center, had to drop out because of her diabetic condition, which left seven cats still in the running.
Well, the contest has come to an end after just four weeks, because all the cat participants from our Wantagh location were adopted (the only thing better than losing weight!). Here are the final tallies for each cat. Congratulations to them all - and special thanks to Halo for helping us track our contestants' paths toward better health!

I'm a Boy Named Suki - that's right, Suki! A few cats around here have told me that my sweet tooth has packed the pounds on my frame, which I'll have to lose if I'm going to have a healthy, long life. But, geez - don't they know it's hard work living up to the status of "Couch Potato" too? Well, I guess if losing the weight means I'll get to live longer and have more time to enjoy with my adoptive family, then I'll do it. But I'll also lose the weight if it'll help out my feline and canine pals at the shelter. Would you be willing to encourage me to reach my goal weight?

I am a gorgeous tuxedo cat that used to have diabetes, but after the folks here at Bideawee learned about my condition, they helped me control it so well that it seems to be gone! Still, I've got some love handles that haven't disappeared like my diabetes, and that's not so good. Maybe this cat food from Halo, Purely for Pets will help me get rid of the extra baggage so everyone will see just how pretty I really am! What would be even better is to know I've got some people who care, and who'll inspire me to meet my weight-loss goals!

All right, so I've been looking more like a big puffy marshmallow lately than the handsome, manly cat I am. Well, I can't help it if I like lounging in a lap more than I like getting some exercise! Still, I know I've got to keep looking good if I'm going to be adopted, and this Feline Weight Loss Challenge should be the key! It's going to be a little tough for me, so if you'd like to support me as I get back into shape, please don't hesitate to be a part of my team!

I came to Bideawee as a pregnant mom in need of fostering for my kittens-to-be and for myself. My kittens came and quickly got adopted; but I'm still waiting to find my home! Since then, I've also been struggling to drop my "baby weight" so I can get back to my old, sleek self. I do get some exercise, but the food here is just too good to waste! Maybe this Halo cat food will help me get back to my pre-baby weight in no time. In the meantime, I could use a "cheering section" to help me along my weight-loss journey, which I'm doing to support my new family of cats and dogs here.

I love two things: Sitting in my cat condo, and watching the birds fly by. What my human friends say, however, is I need to do less sitting around and more moving around. Well, I can't disagree, since gaining weight hasn't made me feel like the most active of kitties lately. They've put me on this Halo pet food diet, which promises to help me lose weight so I can enjoy my condo more - and, I hope, get adopted! If I'm going to do that, I need a little help from my friends … won't you join my team and encourage me in this challenge?

I'm a good-natured senior kitty that loves hanging out with my best human and cat friends. Unfortunately, all that hanging out has left me tipping the scales just a little too much! I love to socialize more than exercise - but I need to slim down if I'm going to jump and play with the rest of the gang here. Halo's cat food may be just what I need to get slim and trim … but I'll also need a little backing to stick to my goals! Please be part of my team today.

I came from a feral cat colony hidden behind the Bideawee adoption center before a staffer rescued me. After that kind of life, I'm not so quick to trust anyone, but I'm working on being more social. I'm also working on getting rid of some of these extra pounds, which keep me from being the spry, young kitty I am. I'm hoping Halo's good cat food will help me get my girlish figure back... and I'm also hoping that you'll support me as well as my friends at Bideawee while I try to lose weight!

I'm Minky, but I'm not as slinky as I'd like to be! I'm a rather chatty Burmese that loves to talk my days away rather than work out; but it's time for me to make a change so I'll be fit and ready for a new home. I want to shed some pounds so I can once again leap into a waiting lap. Won't you support me in my weight loss challenge? I'm losing weight not just for myself - but my friends at the shelter who need support to get rescued and adopted, too.
