Learning Center Classes
Education is good for anyone at any age, so why wait? Check out some of our current course offerings and check the Learning Center closest to you for schedule information. We can often adapt the schedule to meet your needs, so if the stated dates and times aren't good for you, please let us know what you would prefer.
Puppy Kindergarten
This series of introductory classes, for puppies up to six month of age, teaches basic behavior training and provides an opportunity for puppies to socialize with each other. Bideawee staff behaviorists and trainers also set aside time each class to answer your specific questions. Puppy Kindergarten classes are held twice a week in every Bideawee location, weekdays and weekends.
Mind Your Manners
This six-session basic obedience class teaches your dog to be the perfect host: how to meet and greet (bark and no bark), how to ignore the food on the table, how to stay off the furniture and lie down in a designated place until the excitement is all over. Your dog will learn to walk on and off leash by your side, sit, down, stand, wait, stay, and, particularly vital for those things they pick up on the street that we think are disgusting, the very useful command: drop it. For dogs ages 6 months and older.
Adolescence is FANTASTIC!
A class designed specifically for dogs in the 8 months - 3 years range, done in a group setting, dealing with normal teenage unruly behavior.
Group Dog Obedience Classes focus on basic, useful obedience skills such as sit, down, stay, place, and drop it are available on weekends and late afternoons on weekdays. Classes are organized on an as-needed basis, depending on the demands at each location.
One-On-One Training
Every site can arrange private sessions by appointment. Scheduling is flexible and will be arranged through the behavior coordinator. These sessions can focus on learning basic or advanced obedience skills, as well as extreme behavior, such as aggression. Private in-home sessions can also be arranged for an additional cost.
Not Just Dogs
Our Manhattan Learning Center Feline Behavior Coordinator can help you with feline issues, such as fear, scratching, and litter-pan phobia. Just phone the Manhattan Learning Center and ask for Kerrie McKeon.
