Pet Therapy
Luca
Manhattan Pet Therapy Dog1997 - 2010
Bideawee mourns the passing of Luca, one of its beloved pet therapy dogs that enriched people's lives for 12 years.
After being rescued by her owner Jen from the Manhattan City Shelter 13 years ago, Luca and Jen became weekly visitors at Cabrini Nursing Home and at Barrier Free Living. Jen often expressed how grateful she was to have such a dynamic and compassionate animal such as Luca in her life. She was thankful to be able to share and improve other people's lives by sharing Luca with them through Bideawee's Pet Therapy program that improves the quality of life through the human/pet connection.
Ellen Stein, Director of Volunteer Services at the Cabrini Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation expressed it best when she said "Luca was a faithful friend for over 12 years. She touched the lives of many people. She was a warm and caring dog who became a part of our family. We miss her terribly and will never forget her."
Donate today in honor of "Luca" and to help Bideawee continue our mission of promoting safe, loving, long-term relationships between people and pets.
