Sabrina
Wantagh Pet Therapy Dog1997 - 2009
Sabrina, "Cinderella's Fair Lady CD, TDIAOV", was born at home on 4/27/97. She was destined to follow in her mother's footsteps and be a Therapy Dog from the very beginning. She started learning the benefits of pet therapy at 6 months old when she would accompany her mother on visits. When Sabrina received here TDI designation at 1.5 years old she joined Bideawee's Pet Therapy program and immediately began improving the lives of her human counterparts.
Her owner, Sherry, says that Sabrina was a natural from the start. She always had a gentle way and was naturally affectionate which invited hugs and smiles from her human counterparts. Sabrina brought comfort and happiness to countless people as a part of Bideawee's Pet Therapy program. She bonded with children suffering from cancer and brought joy to hospice residents and shared a special connection with Alzheimer's patients who she helped rekindle memories of past pets. When Sabrina shared her gift of love it immediately elevated everyone's spirit as only the human/pet bond can and created life long memories.
Sabrina participated in Bideawee's Reading to Dogs programs at local libraries. The children were always thrilled to see Sabrina. They would sit on the floor and read to her, knowing that they were totally accepted by their furry friend who looked at them in awe.
Sabrina was a loving companion who was able to bring happiness to others in a time of sadness, tragedy or pain. After 10.5 years of dedicated service to others Sabrina passed away on December 6, 2009.
