PET MEMORIAL PARKS

Click for larger view Since 1916, more than 35,000 animals have found a peaceful resting place at the Pet Memorial Parks at Bideawee in Wantagh and Westhampton. Memorial services include transport, private viewing rooms, burial and/or cremation, and the placing of seasonal greens and flowers on a pet's grave. Burials are scheduled Monday through Saturday.

PLOTS

Plots are available in two sizes and can accommodate multiple burials. All plots are available with a choice of maintenance plan. The General Maintenance option is an annual fee covering the cost of maintenance for your plot. The Perpetual Maintenance option is a one-time fee for the upkeep of the plot.

BURIAL

The Pet Memorial Parks at Bideawee offer burial services, which at a minimum include a plot, a choice of maintenance plan, and the opening and closing of the grave. Galvanized containers and a selection of burial caskets and grave markers (flat stones) are available at additional cost. An approved container is required for burial.

CREMATION PLOTS

In addition to regular burial plots, Bideawee offers specialized plots for the burial of ashes. All plots are suitable for six to ten cremation burials (size permitting).

SPECIAL CARE

We offer the planting of summer floral and the placing of winter greens on all plots. They can be purchased separately.

TRANSPORTATION OF PETS

If you reside in New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island, and Nassau and Suffolk counties, transportation of your pet can be arranged for a fee. We generally provide a pick up service Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Pick up service is available on Saturday with advance notice. Bideawee will pick up at your home or your veterinarian's office.

Pets can also be brought directly to the Pet Memorial Parks at Bideawee by their owners or to our Manhattan location. There is no fee for transportation of your pet between any of our offices.

VIEWING

A private room is available for use by family and friends 30 minutes prior to burial or cremation in our Wantagh and Westhampton locations.

HEADSTONES

The cost of a plot does not include a headstone. All arrangements for stones are done privately by the plot owners. Bideawee is not affiliated with any monument company. All monument companies will deliver to the Pet Memorial Parks at Bideawee. Bideawee requires a diagram with the specific dimensions and there are additional foundation fees applicable for the placement of a stone.

CREMATIONS

Bideawee can assist clients with arrangements for both private and communal cremations. Ambulance service is available to pick up your pet for an additional fee.

Private cremations with a viewing are available by appointment only at our Westhampton Memorial Park. All private cremations are performed individually and the ashes are returned to the owners in a decorative metal container.

Communal cremations include multiple animals. The ashes are not returned to the owner, but are respectfully scattered in a designated area in our Westhampton Memorial Park.

We offer quick turn around times, usually same or next day service, on all cremations to help you at this time of great need.

PET LOSS SUPPORT GROUPS

At Bideawee, we believe that our four-legged companions are important parts of the family. Saying goodbye to our loving animal companions can be a tough and very emotional journey. Bideawee wants you to know that you are not alone. Since there are many people experiencing the same loss Bideawee is now providing a support system to deal with your loss.

Each support group is facilitated by one of Bideawee's qualified volunteers who specialize in animal bereavement - Medea Berkman, a pet loss group leader with many years of experience and Joan Fromewick,LCSW, an experienced professional therapist.
