Could your pet benefit from meeting some new friends and learning some new tricks? Could your dog use the extra edge of a little "finishing school?" Or maybe you need to help your dog or cat better understand what it is you want them to do-or not do? Bideawee has expanded our training and behavior services to include classes like Puppy Kindergarten, as well as private training sessions.
The saying is "there are no bad dogs, only bad owners" However "Bad dogs" are admitted into shelters every day. Sadly, most of these are correctable in the home with a little help. Part of Bideawee's mission is to keep pets with their families. The best thing you can do for your dog is to provide training so that he is set up for success in your relationship and in life. Just like with people, communication is the key to a happy relationship. Through training you will learn how to communicate better with your dog and how to understand how your dog communicates with you, strangers and other animals.
Bideawee's Wantagh, Manhattan and Westhampton Learning Centers are currently offering training classes for people and their dogs.
Our trainers use positive reinforcement techniques and work with you to prevent problem behaviors from occurring, or to address them in the early stages so they don't become overwhelming. We'll also help you and your pet have a fun time learning, building the loving bond that will keep you both happy and healthy.
Our Services
Group Training Classes
Through our Learning Center for People & Pets, we will hold a variety of group training classes for dogs of all ages on a wide variety of topics. Please click here for a listing of our available classes.
Private Training Sessions
Treat yourself and your pet to the ultimate educational experience: private classes with our expert trainers. Sessions are approximately an hour each, and are chock-full of learning and tips specifically tailored for you and your pet. We make these sessions family-oriented whenever possible so that everyone in the household can help to reinforce good behavior.
All of our training programs will include games that are fun for you and your pet. These games also serve an important behavior function. They will allow your pet to use their skills in a fun way - to give them a "job."
We have outdoor space available for sessions, or we can come to your home.
Adoption Center Animals
All of Bideawee's Adoption Center dogs receive basic obedience training and all cats and dogs receive daily enrichment to prepare them for life in a home. Dog and puppy adopters should take advantage of one free group or one-on-one training session with Bideawee's Training and Enrichment Coordinator (group vs. one-on-one session option varies according to age and temperament of dog) within 90 days of adoption.
Every adoption includes one free training session within the first six months after you take your pet home, and we recommend to all our adopters that they take advantage of this opportunity.
