Spay/Neuter

When you spay/neuter your pet, you are doing your part to decrease the number of unwanted animals brought to shelters each year.

You are also limiting the chance that your pet will get sick later on in life; sex hormones can contribute to and actually increase the likelihood of certain diseases (life-threatening uterine infections, mammary cancer in females, and testicular cancer in the males) can result. In addition, certain behavior issues may be curtailed when your pet is spayed/neutered. Unless you want to breed your animal, spay/neuter is the responsible thing to do and is in the best interest of your pet.

As part of Bideawee's Veterinary Medical Assistance Fund, every adoptable animal at Bideawee is spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

We promote public awareness of spay/neuter through our publications and outreach programs.

Our veterinary practices offer affordable spay/neuter to the general public, and subsidized spay/neuter to those that qualify for financial assistance. To find out if you qualify, please contact us.

SECOND START PROGRAM

Bideawee's Second Start Program saves abandoned cats and dogs from hopelessly overcrowded municipal shelters where they will be euthanized. We rescue and give them an opportunity at a second start with a new family and loving home. By becoming a sponsor of the Second Start program, you will help rescue cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies each month and give them a second start at life. more »
