UPDATE: Willy Finds a New Home!

Thanks to the support and generous contributions to help us care for him, the dedication of our medical staff, and the extra TLC provided by our adoption staff and volunteers, we have been able to help Willy heal and the results have been extraordinary!



Willy’s treatment consisted of specialized care, including several different medications to treat the wounds left from the embedded collar. Bideawee’s medical staff had to monitor Willy carefully to ensure his injuries did not get infected, and that the unbearable itching was treated so his wounds were able to heal without scratching.

Throughout everything, Willy's sweetness outshined any injuries and he won everyone's adoration. Although it was sad to say goodbye, we are thrilled to announce that above and beyond a successful recovery, Willy has now found a forever home with a loving family! This is assurance that he will never again have to endure the cruelty and abuse he has already had to suffer in his short life. We couldn't be happier for Willy and we wish him all the best with his new family.

Willy's Arrival at Bideawee

Animals can't tell their own tales, so we look to their health, appearance, and personalities to speak for them.

Like so many animals that come through our doors, Willy's story was somewhat of a mystery. However, with Willy, part of his narrative was obvious-this kitty was in agony.

The open wounds circling Willy's neck tell the story of an embedded collar that Willy appears to have torn out of his neck with his own claws in order to free himself of the excruciating pain and suffering. This type of injury is often the result of severe neglect-collars are put on animals when they are small and down the line they are forgotten, neglected, or tossed aside like garbage. As the animal grows, with no one around to love and care for him, the collar becomes painfully embedded in the neck as the flesh grows around it, making it difficult to breathe.
