Covid 19 Updates and Resource Center

We look forward to introducing you to your new best friend, and appreciate your support and patience in the coming weeks, as we do our part to ensure the health of our staff, volunteers and the community we serve.

3/27: Foster applications have been temporarily suspended:
We have temporarily suspensed our foster application submitals due to an overwhelming response. We thank our community for your dedication and willingness to help our animals.
3/25: Update on non-monetary donations:
Thank you so much for your offers of toys, towels, bedding, food and the like but as a safety measure, we will be suspending all non-monetary donations for the time being. If you would like to support our efforts during this time, you can donate here. On behalf of all the animals and people at Bideawee, thank you.
3/23: Planning for an Emergency-- How to ensure your pet's safety:
Most of us would agree that our pets are part of our families, so being prepared for an emergency is just as important for them as it is for us.

Please follow this link to find important information that will help ensure your pet's safety during these uncertain times.

Our Adoption Centers are closed to the public but we will continue to process adoptions by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting any of the animals featured on our website, please submit an application online (DOG / CAT) and you will be contacted by a Bideawee adoption associate to set-up an in-person meeting.

Thank you for your interest in helping dogs and cats in need, however, we are pausing the recruitment of new volunteers. Please click on your location (Manhattan / Wantagh / Westhampton), submit your email address and we will be in touch when we begin accepting new applications. We look forward to welcoming you to the Bideawee volunteer family in the near future.

Thank you so much for your interest in our Foster Program. Due to an overwhelming response and surge in applications, we will be temporarily closing our application at this time. We are so incredibly grateful for your willingness to open your heart and home to a shelter pet during these challenging times, and will be in touch with all of you as our needs and circumstances change. Please stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you to our foster community in the near future.

The Animal Hospital at Bideawee, located in Westhampton, will be open for limited hours during the days of Monday-Saturday for essential appointments only. Concern about human-animal transmission of the Coronavirus: At this time there is no evidence that COVID19 can be transmitted from humans to animals or animals to humans. For more information about how to care for yourself and your pet(s), click here.

Please know that we are actively practicing social distancing at all Bideawee facilities to ensure the health of our staff and visitors. We ask that you adhere to our processes when visiting and that during any in-person interactions you keep a distance of 6ft or more.
