The Bideawee Ball is an annual gala event that celebrates the deep connection that exists between humans and animals. This year’s event will be held at the historic Ziegfeld Ballroom on June 5, 2019. The event will be hosted by WNBC Chief Meteorologist, Janice Huff and will honor Alyssa Moudis and Ted Moudis, AIA, and Sydney B. Ireland for their longstanding commitment to animal welfare.

Featuring a seated dinner and live and silent auctions, the dog-friendly event welcomes more than 400 guests. The Ball is an opportunity to celebrate Bideawee’s outstanding community, and all those who aid us in our collective efforts to make the world a better place for homeless animals.

    Alyssa Moudis
Alyssa cannot remember a time in her life when she did not advocate for her love of all animals. She is a writer, consultant, and affiliate of as many animal organizations as she can grab hold of. Bideawee is so important to her with the many, many lives it has saved and continues to save, as well as its awe-inspiring history and its path to future endeavors to help more lives.

Animals are as special as people to her. She believes each and every one deserves comfort, safety, happiness, and most importantly, love. Her father, Ted Moudis, is constantly at her side, ready to help with any current venture.

Alyssa’s entire family supports and encourages her vast love of animals in any way they can. The Moudis family members have for years greatly appreciated all that Bideawee does. Their dog Lilly, a Bichon Frise, now age 14, has enjoyed attending and finding new friends at many of the past galas. They all look forward to Bideawees future accomplishments.
    Ted Moudis Associates
Ted Moudis, who was introduced to Bideawee by his friend Joseph Sorbera, has been a supporter of the organization for 6 years. Ted has also been actively involved with numerous charitable organizations and community causes, including serving on the board of New York Institute of Technology, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the United Way of New York City.

Ted is the Senior Principal and founder of Ted Moudis Associates, a New York City based architectural interiors firm ranked as one of the top 10 design firms in New York and top 30 nationwide. He possesses over 35 years of experience designing innovative workplaces for clients such as Blackstone, Interpublic Group, Rolex, Kaplan, National Football League, JPMorgan Chase, and Foot Locker, among others.

    Sydney B. Ireland
Sydney has been walking dogs and petting cats with adoption groups since she could walk and first fell for Bideawee when she and her family adopted the perfect dog, Scout. Sydney is the recognized catalyst for opening membership to girls and young women in the Boy Scouts of America, starting in February 2019. For her Eagle Scout project, Sydney partnered with Bideawee in her “Connect a Vet with a Pet” initiative, finding homes for adoptable dogs and cats with our service veterans. She also coordinated with Canine Companions for Independence, so that the veterans and others could train their pets as therapy dogs. The event was a huge success, connecting many animals and raising thousands of dollars for the continued adoption of Bideawee pets by veterans. Sydney was recently recognized by Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and was invited to the State of the Union as her guest, and is the recipient of two proclamations from the New York City Council and another from State Senator Brad Hoylman for her work in gender equality in scouting. Sydney is a senior at the Nightingale-Bamford School and this fall she will be a freshman at Amherst College.
