Have you visited the smaller of the two catteries in Westhampton? If you have, then you have no doubt met Cuma, our official greeter! This poor girl was surrendered to Bideawee by her owner in 2007 because she was being bullied by the other kitties in the home. She is moderately nervous - but has improved over time - and can sometimes be over-zealous, so she is seeking a patient home where she can adjust and bond at her own pace. She tolerates other cats but becomes stressed out if another cat approaches too quickly, closely or unexpectedly. According to the volunteers, she loves to be mushed and pet but it takes her a little while to warm up. Fortunately, when you sponsor Cuma, you give her the opportunity to come out of her shell on her time, and make the slow, steady steps that will continue to improve her quality of life, and ensure her happiness while at Bideawee and beyond.
