Devin Shanahan – Co-Chair
Devin Shanahan is Co-Chair of Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee and has been a volunteer with Bideawee since 2011. She has been an animal lover and advocate since birth and is thrilled to be part of such a dynamic organization that saves so many homeless pets each year.
Outside of Bideawee, Devin is a Senior Vice President in the Financial Restructuring Group at Houlihan Lokey, an LA-based investment bank.
Devin graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in economics, and lives in the West Village with her husband Mike Shanahan and their three lively dogs, Petunia, Rufus and Rocket (a Bideawee alum!). She is originally from Connecticut.
Joseph Sorbera, III – Co-Chair
Joe is Co-Chair of Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee and a former member of Bideawee's marketing team. He adopted his rat terrier/chihuahua mix, Max, from Bideawee in 2012. Joe is currently an administrator and cost manager at JLS Cost Management Systems Inc. He hopes to bring a new generation to the forefront of supporting Bideawee and its mission to care for pets and the people who love them.
Joe is a proud graduate of the University of Scranton and received his MBA from Pace University.
Jillian Roberts – Event Chair
Jillian is the Events Chair of Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee. She joined the committee because she’s passionate about Bideawee’s mission to save animals and would love to share that passion with other young professionals in the New York area.
Jillian is a graduate of St. Joseph’s University (The Hawk Will Never Die!) in Philadelphia and is originally from Bucks County, PA.
Mike Shanahan – Secretary
Mike Shanahan is Secretary of Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee and has been a Bideawee volunteer since 2011. His passion for Bideawee is inspired by his wife Devin’s relentless enthusiasm for animal welfare, and the joy that adopted rescue dogs (Rufus & Rocket) have brought to his life.
Mike is a graduate of Georgetown University and is an investment banker with Deutsche Bank. He is originally from Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Carolann Trotta – Marketing/Social Media Chair
Carolann is the Marketing Chair of Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee. She is an active member fueled by her passion to help save animals, and love for her Lhasa Apso, Bella. She invites other canine/ feline-loving young professionals to be a part of this great cause.
Carolann is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson/ Business Development Agent with The Nassimi Group in lower Manhattan; a full service commercial and residential investment real estate brokerage with properties worldwide, catering to a network of high worth individuals.
Carolann is a graduate of the University of Scranton's undergraduate class of 2011.
Melani Wexler – Finance Chair
Melani is the Finance Chair of Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee. Her involvement with Bideawee began through a volunteer day with her job, providing a perfect outlet to combine her love for animals with philanthropy.
Outside the YPC, Melani works as a credit analyst for a global bank. She holds a BS from Penn State University, and an MBA with honors from Fordham University.
Melani resides on the Upper East Side with her two cats, Sammi and Smokey.
Nicole Passmore – Outreach Chair
Nicole Passmore is the Bideawee YPC"s Outreach Chair and has been a volunteer with Bideawee since August 2015. Although she initially signed up as a Bideawee volunteer to work with dogs, she has since fallen in love with cats as well and ended up bringing home a sassy 3-year old cat named Socks in April 2016. She is passionate about animal welfare and is thrilled to be a part of a great group of like-minded individuals.
Outside of the YPC, Nicole is an associate at Mercer, a human resources consulting firm, and pursuing her actuarial credentials. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Applied Mathematics & Statistics and Economics.
Steph Lee – Administrative Chair
Steph Lee is Bideawee YPC's Admin. She joined YPC at the end of 2016 because she loves animals and wanted to be more involved with other amazing animal lovers/organizations to help save more animals. She has two foster-fail pitties that she adopted from Brooklyn's Animal Care & Control. One of them just graduated from Good Dog Foundation's Therapy Dog Program.
Steph is originally from Austin, TX, graduated from Northeastern University in 2011, and is currently a Sr. Account Manager at Optimatic Media.
