Bideawee’s Young Professionals Committee (YPC) is a dynamic group of New York-based professionals in their 20s and 30s who are passionate about animal welfare and share Bideawee’s core values focused on helping homeless pets. The YPC supports Bideawee’s mission by hosting outreach and fundraising events throughout the year to cultivate awareness and support for the organization’s programs and services. The YPC was formed in June 2014 with the goal of bringing a new generation to the forefront of supporting Bideawee and its mission. Since formation, the YPC has raised over $35,000 for Bideawee.

  • Join Us!

The YPC is always looking for new members with creative ideas, a passion for pets and a desire to positively impact animal welfare and make the world a better place for the millions of dogs and cats without homes. YPC members have diverse careers and backgrounds, and since the group is made up of young hard-working professionals, we’re understanding about conflicts and know that free time is scarce: a dial-in is available for all meetings to accommodate work-a-holics, jet setters, and people with unreasonable bosses (we’ve all been there). We’ll take as little or as much time as you have to give. Above all, our goal is to get young people involved with an awesome and inspiring organization and help find forever homes for Bideawee’s happy and healthy pets through fundraising and outreach. Please consider coming to our next meeting or event to learn more about the YPC and meet some of our members. Here’s how to get involved:

    Attend our next meeting
The YPC generally holds meetings once a month at Bideawee’s Manhattan location; we target the last Wednesday of the month and meetings run about an hour (7:00pm-8:00pm); wine and adoptable pets are usually present. Check out our calendar below to find out when the next meeting is taking place, or email us at if you want to dial in/listen in.

  • What We Do

The YPC hosts several social events in Manhattan and the surrounding area each year in an effort to raise money and awareness for Bideawee. Many of the YPC’s events are attended by Bideawee’s adorable and adoptable pets, and these events are a great way to learn about the many programs, services and volunteer opportunities offered by Bideawee, meet other pet owners in NYC, and enjoy the beautiful city.

Members of the Young Professionals Committee support the YPC’s efforts by assisting in planning and promotion of YPC events, participating in fundraising campaigns and outreach activities, and generally helping to spread the word about Bideawee’s wonderful programs and support the organization in any way possible.

Recent YPC events have included a spin class at Crank Cycling Studio, a wine and cheese tasting at Murray’s Cheese Shop, and the YPC also hosts regular Comedy Night events at The Stand NYC each fall and spring. We have a variety of events at a variety of price points each year... check out our recent events album and the #bideaweeYPC hashtag on instagram for recent event photos!
