11.19.2004 -12.10.2017 It is with a broken heart that I share the recent passing of our beloved poodle, Remy. Remy lived a happy and fun life as my best friend, loyal companion, a champion snuggler, snow lover, grass eater, beach goer, park walker, wall jumper, stair runner, ball catcher, toy tugger, window seat watcher, forest hiker, collector of many ticks, voracious salmon eater, hamburger bun stealer, corn chip cruncher, twig shredder, chocolate bar caper, peanut butter licker, car riding fool (he adored the car!), chaser of water from the garden hose, catcher of his red frisbee, fire hydrant water drinker on hot New York summer days, bed warmer on cold winter nights, willing participant in countless dance parties, curious partner in yoga (he would often lay down in the middle of my mat), claimer of many blankets, creative chin rester, (he always liked to rest his chin on something) all while he had his eye on my every move. In his lifetime, he encountered many squirrels dropping food for him in the yard (even a slice of pizza), a poor baby bunny that showed me Remy’s inner wolf instinct, a fat rat in a tiny Brooklyn park, a bold turtle in Central Park, friendly deer in Fire Island and a nocturnal bear in Colorado. He escaped my protective watch a few times, once in a National Forest in Colorado, as a puppy, he found himself stuck on steep hillside, then while off leash running full speed in the middle of country road in Indiana to be corralled by a good samaritan in her car, and once from our home in Forest Park, he was found casually wandering up to a stranger’s front porch, looking completely perplexed as to why I was calling his name so frantically. He was known for his wild hair styles, handsome silver coloring, various scarves, and loving brown eyes. He was affectionately called: The Remster, Rem Dog, MBB, Mr. Boo Boo, Puff-head, Remyke, the VIP (Very Important Poodle), Fuzzles, Baby boo, Remy Kristopherson, Little big man, CPO (Chief Poodle Officer), Baby Bubbers, Beauvier, and the Little Prince. If you could see the candid joyous reactions of the hundred’s of strangers that crossed his path on our countless walks you could not deny Remy was special. May his happy little spirit live on in his memories. I take great comfort in knowing our bond is invisible and eternal. Oh, Remy, it is without a doubt, you are LOVED!
