Pet Spotlight: Ama
We had been hoping to adopt a kitten for a long time. We visited Bideawee twice before but left empty-handed, feeling like we just hadn’t met the right cat yet.
Then, on our third visit in October 2024, something special happened. As soon as we walked in, a kitten in the front room ran straight over to greet our 6-year-old daughter from behind the glass. Everywhere our daughter went, the kitten followed—jumping, pawing, and trying her best to get noticed.

Kitten Season” Offers Special Foster Care Opportunities
Summer is here, and long days and warm weather are once again fueling “kitten season,” the months when unfixed cats are most likely to breed. Rescuing vulnerable feral-born kittens from outdoor dangers and adopting them into loving indoor homes is one of the goals of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and appropriate, age-specific care is crucial to each kitten’s survival and adoption success. Through fostering kittens for Bideawee or another shelter or rescue group, you can help reduce the number of kittens struggling on the streets and free up TNR caretakers’ time to focus on community cat spay/neuter.
Do you want to help orphaned or feral-born kittens but don’t know where to begin? Learn kitten socialization and bottle-feeding basics through a free, on-demand webinar, Kitten Season 101 (Watch Video, View Handout), from Bideawee’s Feral Cat Initiative.
And for more in-depth education on bottle-feeding and socialization, check out our other kitten season webinars, Bottle-Feeding & Care of Orphaned Kittens (Watch Video, View Handout), and Taming Feral Kittens for Adoption (Watch Video, View Handout).
If you’re interested in putting your kitten season skills to work as a Bideawee foster volunteer, learn more and apply on our website, or email [email protected].
