PET MEMORIAL DAY

The 54th annual National Pet Memorial Day is observed on Sunday, September 13th. However, out of respect for those celebrating Rosh Hashanah which falls on the same day, Bideawee will be hosting our 2026 Pet Memorial Day on Saturday, September 19th at 1pm. All are invited to attend and reflect on the memory of their pets.

BRIGHT NIGHT IN THE PARK

You may be familiar with the expression “When a cardinal is here, a loved one is near,” so we have chosen the cardinal to be our iconic symbol for this event.  Cardinals often represent the spirit of a departed loved one, letting you know they are close by.  All are invited as we light selected trees in the park and hang your personalized cardinal ornaments in memory of pets that have passed.

WALKING TOURS

Walking Tour Hours:
Join us for a FREE 45-minute guided walking tour of the historic Wantagh Pet Memorial Park with Bideawee’s Chief Operating Officer.

Since 1916, more than 65,000 animals have found a peaceful resting place at the Pet Memorial Parks at Bideawee on Long Island in Wantagh and Westhampton. The Pet Memorial Parks at Bideawee are sustained by an endowment which ensures their viability in perpetuity.

BIRD WATCHING IN THE PARK

Enjoy a tranquil birdwatching walk with Patrick Shure, local bird enthusiast. This event is limited to 10 participants. All attendees should bring binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, camera (optional).
