Staff Spotlight: Ilana Sarkozi

Bideawee is pleased to welcome Ilana Sarkozi to the team as Senior Major Gifts Officer.

Ilana joins Bideawee after serving as the Senior Manager of Individual Giving at the American Academy in Rome (AAR) where she crafted and executed strategies to raise more than $37 million in operating, endowment, and planned gifts. Prior to AAR, Ilana established the Donor Relations team at the American Museum of Natural History before managing the museum’s benefit events. Ilana has a demonstrated record of success with strategic planning, capital campaign fundraising, and building philanthropic support at every level.

She earned her MA in art history and archaeology from NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts and a dual BA in Italian studies and art history at Brandeis University. An Italophile, Ilana lived in Rome before making New York City her home.

A lifelong lover of the natural world and its creatures, Ilana’s childhood dog, Leonardo Da Vinci, rescued from the mountains of Colorado, sparked her passion for animal welfare. Her family currently includes her husband Alex and Maddie, a pitbull-boxer mix.
