Dog Care Volunteer
Description:
Provide enrichment, socialization, brushing, walking and exercise for dogs that are awaiting adoption at the Adoption Centers at Bideawee. Helping to maintain the dogs' living space is required.

Requirements:
Must be able to follow direction of the Adoption Centers at Bideawee staff. Comfortable around dogs and has the ability to run or power walk as required based on the dog. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Cat Care Volunteer
Description:

Animal Foster Families
Description:
Bideawee is seeking individuals that can provide foster homes for animals awaiting adoption at the Adoption Centers at Bideawee. Foster families provide adoptable animals a home until a suitable permanent home is found.

Requirements
Must be willing to provide foster animals the care (nutrition, healthcare, etc.) they need to thrive. Foster parents must be willing to commit to ensuring the physical and mental health of the foster animal. All foster parents must submit an additional application and participate in an interview. Must be 21 years or older.
Pet Therapy Teams
Description:
Pet/People teams are needed to help Bideawee continue the rapid growth and expansion of the Bideawee U Pet Therapy program. Teams will visit local facilities and provide the residents (elderly, disabled, ill-children) the opportunity to interact with and experience the love of the trained therapy animal. These interactions often result in the improved physical health and mental well-being of the patient.

Pet Therapy teams must have the commitment, compassion and ability to reach out to the elderly, the disabled, and to ill or abused children with your pet. Must have your own pet to be a Pet Therapy Team and pass a Pet Therapy Team exam before being certified to practice. Certified therapy pairs are preferred but training and certifications offered at some Bideawee sites. Must be 16 years of age or older and be willing to submit and additional application and screening, including a background check.
Reading to Dogs Learning Center
Description:
Individuals and their well behaved dogs are needed to participate in the Bideawee U Reading to Dogs Program. Reading to Dog teams visit local schools and libraries to help children improve their reading and communication skills by reading to a non-judgmental dog.

Brand Ambassador - Special Events
Description:
Bideawee Brand Ambassadors are needed to help staff special events at various times throughout the year. Brand Ambassadors represent the organization to the public at owned and partnered events across the metropolitan New York area.

Requirements:
Brand Ambassadors must be comfortable engaging the public at events. Brand Ambassadors must have the ability to stand or be outside for long periods of time and be willing to handle pets at events. The willingness to enthusiastically engage in one on one dialogue with other pet lovers is essential. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Education & Outreach Assistant

Bideawee U needs an Education & Outreach Assistant to assist staff in setting up for classes.

Photographer - Adoption Center
Description: Take photos and digital video of the animals available for adoption.

Must have prior photography experience in a commercial setting. Familiarity with lighting packages and working with some studio elements (i.e. seamless) will be required. All candidates must be 16 years of age or older.
Adoption Center Concierge
Description:
Welcome pet lovers to Bideawee and help them fulfill their needs while on property.

Requirements:
Must be have an out-going personality and have a desire help to fulfill pet lovers needs. This volunteer position is ideal for any individual with front line hospitality experience. Must be 16 years of age or older.
General Administrative Support
Description:
Many Bideawee departments are in need of administrative support on and off site. Needs range from data entry, filing, logistics assistance, sponsorship fulfillment calls, competitive tracking, social media monitoring, etc.

Individuals should be detail oriented comfortable working in a dynamic team environment. Comfort dealing across the organization with multiple management levels. Individual position requirements vary based on functional needs.Must be 16 years of age or older.
Outdoor & Facilities Work
Description:
Help with gardening, outdoor jobs, mowing, weeding, trimming of bushes, construction, etc.
