Focus on Feral Cat Initiative (FCI)

Lil’ Biscuit was recently abandoned in Gravesend Brooklyn. This petite, late-term pregnant, very friendly calico cat found her way to the backyard of Alisha, a woman who had been laid-off from work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She contacted a local animal rescuer, retired NYPD Police Officer Suzanne, who contacted Ann, a TNR Certified volunteer, who is also a retired NYPD Police Officer for help. Ann reached out to Bideawee’s NYC Feral Cat Initiative for a plan since the cat was not going into a regular trap, and for a shelter she could go into. A drop trap was recommended and worked on the very first try. Lil’ Biscuit was ecstatic to be saved and started “making biscuits,” (making a kneading dough motion with her front paws), and purring loudly as if to say, I’m so happy to be rescued! She is currently being fostered by a Bideawee volunteer, and her and her kittens will be available for adoption in a few weeks.
