Join us for a virtual celebration of Bideawee's 38th annual Pet Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, September 13th at 11am. Due to COVID-19, this year’s Pet Memorial Day will be celebrated virtually through Zoom. We are committed to honoring this special day while ensuring the safety of our attendees. This annual ceremony is a loving tribute to the community's departed companion animals and will include speakers, a candle lighting and a pet memorial slide show. The ceremony will be recorded and available to view after the event. All attendees must register for the event below.
Please also consider making a donation for one or both of the following memorial packages:
For a $10 donation, you can submit a photo of your pet to be included in the pet memorial slide show during the ceremony. The slide show will also be available to view on the website after the ceremony. In addition, a virtual candle will be lit in your pet’s memory.
For a $10 donation, you can pick up a memorial kit from our Wantagh Pet Memorial Park from September 8th – 12th. Your kit will include a Pet Memorial Day booklet, a Bideawee votive candle to use during the candle lighting and memorial seed paper to plant in memory of your pet.
While our Pet Memorial Day ceremony will be celebrated virtually, Bideawee will be offering in-person guided walking tours of our Wantagh Pet Memorial Park for a limited number of participants. During the tour, walkers will explore the grave sites of many beloved pets who call Bideawee their final resting place, including Sarge, a Belgian Shepherd and army hero of the WWII Canine Corps; Checkers, the Cocker Spaniel credited with saving Richard Nixon’s political career in 1952; a giant 125-pound tortoise; a duck; a capuchin monkey; petit horses; and more. The tours will take place at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. Attendees must register below. Each tour is limited to 15 people. All attendees must wear a mask and maintain social distancing guidelines.
