Pet Spotlight: Rza

Before RZA (re-named after the leader of Wu-Tang Clan) came into my life, I used to frequent adoption centers all over Manhattan to find a cat I connected with enough to bring home, but never really met “the one”.

Keep Your Community Cats Warm This Winter

As the leaves begin to turn, and fall jackets make their way back into daily rotation, join us to learn how you can help keep the cats in your neighborhood warm this winter.

The tens of thousands of community cats who live outdoors year-round in NYC and Long Island will seek out refuge from cold weather this winter. Unfortunately, without a safe space to hunker down and warm their paws, outdoor cats sometimes climb into car engines and wheel wells to avoid the elements, potentially exposing them to severe injury. (Reminder to all drivers — bang on your car’s hood before starting your vehicle this winter!)

On Wednesday, November 30th, learn how you can keep your feline neighbors safe, warm, and dry this winter by joining our Building Shelters for Outdoor Cats Webinar. We’ll teach you about the materials, tools, and skills needed to build a variety of warm, waterproof shelters, in addition to sharing general information about pre-fab shelters available for purchase.

Grateful for YOU

It’s so hard to believe that it’s already November. I swear time speeds up the older we get! Regardless of whether it feels like August or 2007, November is a time when I reflect on all that I am thankful for personally, but also professionally. I truly am blessed to bear witness to acts of heroism – acts of saving animals’ lives – not in a big, “media-splashy” way, but in the everyday actions of our animal-loving staff, volunteers, board, adopters and donors that make up the Bideawee family. For that, I am truly grateful.
